The MEN & FATHERS RESOURCE CENTER (MFRC) comprises several affiliated organizations and programs, some of which have served men and fathers for three decades. The Center is unreservedly male-positive and father-friendly. It's mission statement declares:

The MFRC provides resource development, housing, services, staff and equipment to male-positive organizations, agencies and professionals, and provides services in a supportive, professional and knowledgeable manner to clients. In carrying out its mission, the Center also acts as a community education and public awareness resource on men and their concerns.

For years, many of the organizations that comprise the Center have operated out of a suite of offices in the Vaughn Building at 807 Brazos St. in downtown Austin. Click here for a map and directions. In late 1997, it became apparent to the boards of directors of the various organizations that the scope of the organizational services had become so large, and the range so diverse, that a tighter operational focus would benefit all. The result, finally realized in mid-1998, was the non-profit, service-oriented MFRC.

Today, the Center has expanded in both size and impact. The Center provides offices, personnel, equipment and services to several organizations. Either through its own programs, or through its component organizations, the Center offers free and low-cost family law services for fathers, inexpensive DNA testing, support groups, parenting training, professional referral banks, a nationwide crisis line for men with family issues, and continuing legislative liaison and public awareness programs. Speakers are available on men's concerns and fathering issues, and the Center has established an extensive media awareness program.
